HA Urawa actually won a pre-season game, which wasn't a training match!!! Takasaki, quickly becoing my favourite player this season, came off the bench to scored the only goal in the 74 th minute to beat Tochigi S.C. 1-0. Hopefully have some highlights up soon. I have added some images but I is debatable if they will actually appear, so fingers crossed.
Images didn't work, again Just logged into Youtube though and found highlights of the game waiting on my dashboard. We were lucky to win this...very lucky.

Urawa's opening game of the 2011 season is on Sunday against Vissel Kobe. It will be interesting to see if pre-season, even though it have be shit, has helped in any way to gel the team.

Well urawa started today with ideas of an opening win against Kobe (who bet us 4-0 on the closing game of the 2010 season). But instead Urawa get a player sent off for...well fuck all, and lose 1-0 to a 35 yard free kick. Highlights: If anyone can tell why Suzuki (no.13) got sent off, please tell, because as far as I know it was a ref fuck up.
Team: GK: Yamagishi DF: Hirakawa; Nagata; Yamada (No); Ugajin MF: Keita; Kashiwagi; Richardes FW: Tatsuya; Haraguchi; Edmilson Subs: 81min Tatsuya > Takasaki 86min Haraguchi > Mazola

My away shirt arrived yesterday, and I have to say it is, in my opinion, even better than the home shirt.

After a long wait the J-League finally kicked off again yesterday for Urawa at home to current champions Nagoya Grampus. The game ended 3-0 to Urawa! After the ref lost us the first game against Kobe (which reds should have really put to bed in the first half) I feared this might be a long season. But to beat the current champs and convincinly as well. Maybe Urawa will win the League this year The goals were scored by Marcio (12min), Tatsuya (25min) and Haraguchi (78min), with the team line up as follows: GK: Yamagishi DF: Takahashi; Spiranovic; Nagata; Ugajin MF: Yamada; Kashiwagi; Richardes FW: Haraguchi; Tatasuya; Edmilson Subs 80min Tatsuya > Escudero 84min Yamada > Aoyama 84min Haraguchi > Mazola Richardes Haraguchi Shunki Takahashi and Edmilson Highlights: Now Urawa face a tough trip up north to play Vegalta Sendai.

On Saturday the high of the win against Nagoya was shattered. Reds faced off against Vegalta Sendai, at their ground. Sendai really is a team Urawa should beat, and beat well. But as usual, this happens a lot, we lose a game we should have won. Sendai scored the only goal of the game even though Reds had endless chances. But no-one could score. The team lined up like this: GK: Yamagishi DF: Takahashi; Spiranovic; Nagata; Ugajin MF: Yamada; Kashiwagi; Richardes FW: Tatsuya; Haraguchi; Edmilson Subs HT Tatsuya > Takasaki 69min Yamada > Mazola 85min Ugajin > Noda

Urawa played Yokohama F Marinos today in the Kanto derby. I thought maybe after the 1-0 defeat on Saturday the team would buck up and play a hard fought with Marinos.......how wrong could I be. Although it took until the 70th Minute for Yokohama's first goal. Nakamura, previously of Celtic, swung in a free kick that was headed in by Kazuma Watanabe (YFM). 4 minutes into extra time Yokohama scored again thanks to Masashi Oguro (YFM). The team was the same as Saturday's game against Sendai: GK: Yamagishi DF: Takahashi; Spiranovic; Nagata; Ugajin MF: Yamada; Kashiwagi; Richardes FW: Haraguchi; Tatsuya; Edmilson Subs 69min Tatsuya > Mazola 75min Spiranovic > Takasaki Shunki TAKAHASHI Mitsuru NAGATA

Urawa played Kashiwa Reysol today at the Hitachi Kashiwa Soccer Stadium. Reds went there hoping, praying, to get a positive result after the 2-0 defeat on Tuesday to Yokohama and the 1-0 away defeat to Sendai last Saturday. With Kashiwa sitting top of the table though, that was going to be unlikely. And even though I did felt we may have got a god result, I knew deep down that we were going to get dicked. Roll on the 3-1 defeat. Goals:1min, 83min Hideaki KITAJIMA(Kashiwa);21min JORGE WAGNER(Kashiwa); 90+2min Genki HARAGUCHI(Urawa Reds)This now puts Urawa second from bottom with only 3 points after 5 games. I really can't see were the goals are going to come from, or Reds being able to keep a clean sheet. Not looking good Extended Highlights of Kashiwa Reysol:

Urawa reds played Cerezo Osaka today, at Saitama Stadium, hoping to stem the flow of poor results. Yesterday I had a look at Cerezo's past performances this season and noticed they drew most of their games. So no surprise then, when I check my computer this morning to find out we drew 1-1. The goals were scored in the 8th minute by Genki Haraguchi and then Cerezo pulled one back in the 35th minute. Well all I can say is it is an improvement. I was really expecting to lose this game, because of the last three games. But a draw is a good and welcome result. I'll know more about the performance once the highlights come out during the week.

Urawa took on the J-League's best team, with 7 championships, Kashima Antlers. Lately Kashima haven't been doing so well and after last weekends draw with Cerezo I thought we may get something out of this game. But I also knew it would be hard. You don't become the best team in a country by not putting in performances, and even though they finished 4th last year they are still a tough team to play. You may be surprised to hear then that Reds and the Antlers shared the points for this game after a 2-2. Another point and a place moved up. Maybe a ACL (Asian Champions League) finish isn't out of our reach...as long as the top 6 flop and slip up at some point soon. Goals:13min Daigo NISHI(Kashima),62min Chikashi MASUDA(KASHIMA), 67min Hiroyuki TAKASAKI (REDS),69min MAZZOLLA(REDS)From the highlights, the first 2 goals were terrible. The defenders just look as though they couldn't be asked. Also why was Mazzola sent off? Looked like a pen to us, not a sending off.

Urawa took on Niigata yesterday in what could have been a winnable game. All looked well when Edmilson (fucking useless lately) scored from a set piece. But chance were squandered, with Kashiwagi and Takasaki no converting. So the first half finished 1-0. In the second half Niigata came back on 70 minutes to equalise and so the score staid 1-1. Urawa have now draw their last 5 five games, but have climbed two places in the table to 13th, as Cerezo Osaka lost 1-0 today and Kashima Antlers are yet to play. GK: Yamagishi DF: Takahashi; Spiranovic; Nagata; Ugajin MF: Keita; Kashiwagi; Richardes; Haraguchi FW: Takasaki; Edmilson Subs 72min Takasaki > Hara 77min Keita > Nobu Yamada
