Lurgan joy Posted on February 28, 2011 by Alan Dundela gained a welcome victory at Lurgan Celtic after a much better showing than last weeks capitulation at Portstewart. New boy Ben Roy showed why Mark Snodden was eager to get him on board with a superb display up front. Dundela took the lead on 25minutes when Roy finished of a neat passing move with a sublime effort. The lead was quickly doubled when Roy capitalized on some slack defending to superbly set up Glen Upton. HT 0-2 The Duns made a sluggish start to the second half and Celtic soon pulled a goal back much to the annoyance of manager Snodden.Indeed it could have been much worse if not for a fantastic point blank save from Johnny Sergeant in the away goal. Dundela however took control midway through the half with goals from Scott Hill and a second for Upton.Even a late goal for Celtic was not going to change the fact that this was a much better performance than that of last week…..FT 2-4
Dundela. Sergeant, Lenaghan, Murphy, Walker, Young, Gourley(C), Irwin, Gilliland, Upton, Roy, Hill, Subs, Chalmers(Gourley77), McCracken(Upton77), Dunlop(Roy90).
