Dundela 0-2 H&W Welders 21/12/13 @ Wilgar Park Championship1
The Duns slumped to their first league defeat of the season against local rivals “The Welders”, who gained some revenge for the 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Wilgar men.
In a hard fought contest Dundela perhaps had the best of the early chances and should really have been in front but were unable to convert with McComb and Irwin passing up the two best oportunities. They were made to pay shortly before the break when McKay diverted the ball into his own goal when trying to clear a corner. HT 0-1
The second half had Dundela pressing but again to no avail whilst at the other end McKay was having better luck in keeping the visitors out with several fine stops as they attempted to hit The Duns on the break. The game was wrapped up with less than five minutes left as Matty Burrows broke free to fire past McKay and seal all three points for the away side. FT 0-2
Dundela McKay, Collins, McCullough, Cherry(Jackson 60), Owens, Ferguson(C), Irwin(Black 85), McCain, McComb, Halliday(Beggs 60), Burns. Subs not used Gourley, Davison.
