This is a copy of the article sent to the press.
Please could all members & supporters support the cause.
Thanks.
For the last few seasons AFC Croydon Athletic member Julian Chenery has run a charity project collecting football and other sports kit as well as school uniforms for sports groups & schools in Africa.
This is passed to charities such as Kit Aid, Kits4Causes, Operation Sunshine & the African Child Trust and also directly to organisations in Kenya, Togo. Uganda, Zambia & Zimbabwe.
In support of this project the Southern Counties East fixture between AFC Croydon Athletic and Bearsted AFC at Mayfield Stadium, Thornton Heath on Saturday, 17th September 2016, kick off 3.00pm, is a Kit Amnesty Match where those attending in whatever capacity - players, officials or supporters - are asked to bring along any old items of sportswear or school uniform they can spare. This can be anything from a replica shirt to an old pair of shorts, water bottles or the old school tie!! Anything will be gratefully received and the motto is very much "if in doubt donate".
This is a great cause and as much support as possible would be appreciated
