I got this coming i the post ;D It cost a fair bit but it was cheaper than buying it brand new with tags from Japan. Its coming from a collector in Italy so no customs either. Plus this is the current seasons home shirt although for 2014 the J-League badge is back o its normal design and the lettering and numbers for names has changed (big deal). I should hopefully have some news on team changes and a look at the new Manger soon. Exciting times.

So here is the team update for the 2014 J-Leagues season, so far, and a quick overview of Tokyo's new manager Massimo Ficcadenti:
1 Japan GK Hitoshi Shiota 2 Japan DF Yuhei Tokunaga 3 Japan DF Masato Morishige (captain) 4 Japan MF Hideto Takahashi 5 Japan DF Kenichi Kaga 6 Japan DF Kosuke Ota 7 Japan MF Takuji Yonemoto 8 Japan MF Hitotaka Mita 9 Japan FW Kazuma Watanabe 10 Japan MF Yohei Kajiyama 11 Brazil FW Edu 13 Japan FW Sota Hirayama 14 Japan MF Yoshinori Muto 15 Japan DF Daishi Hiramatsu 16 Japan DF Yuichi Maruyama 17 Japan MF Hiroki Kawano 18 Japan MF Naohiro Ishikawa 19 Japan MF Tasuka Hiraoka 20 Japan GK Shūichi Gonda 21 Japan GK Ryotaro Hironaga 22 Japan MF Naotake Hanyu 23 Japan FW Yohei Hayashi 25 Brazil DF Matheus Ferraz 28 Japan MF Shuto Kono 29 Japan DF Kazunori Yoshimoto 31 Japan GK Kentaro Kakoi 33 Japan DF Kenta Mukuhara 34 Japan MF Hideyuki Nozawa 38 Japan MF Keigo Higashi 50 Japan DF Riku Matsuda TBD Brazil FW Roberto
Massimo Ficcadenti is shit. Not really much more to add to that. The guy got sacked by a club before pre-season was over one year.....FC Tokyo what have you done?

The J-League Season is under way. After 2 weeks Tokyo sit 13th (out of 18) with 2 pts on the board. Both games against Kashiwa Reysol and yesterday against Ventforet Kofu ended 1-1 with Mita scoring against Kashiwa and new striker Edu netting (all be it a terrible fumble from the keeper) against Kofu. 2 points are better than none. Next Saturday sees Tokyo travel down to Kobe who last year won promotion back to the flight at their first attempt. Could be an interesting game.

Tokyo lost to Kobe 2-1. New boy Edu got a goal back in the 67th minute but Kobe held on for the 2-1 win. This leaves Tokyo sitting 13th with 2 pts, both of the previous games ending 1-1. I'm starting to worry now that maybe Tokyo have lost their goal threat with the retirement of Lucas. I'm hoping Watanabe and this Edu can form a partnership quickly and start banging them in. I hope this isn't going to be a relegation battle season Next game is against high flying, haven't lost yet, Kashima Antlers (4-0, 2-0, 3-0 previous Kashima results 2014) at the Aji Sta (home)....oh dear

Well Tokyo beat Kashima on the 19th in the J-League Cup 3-1. Kawano 8th, Ota 10th and Mita 71st got the goals for the Gasmen before Motoyama got a goal back in the 72nd minute for Kashima. Not a bad result.
Unfortunately Tokyo where soundly beat 4-0 by Kawasaki Frontale today it the Aji Sta in the J1. This was my worry when Ficcadenti took charge. He hasn't really done anything other than get sacked, in some cases on a month or two into a job. He did well at some lower league Italian teams a few years back who didn't have a lot to spend but once he had a bit of money he didn't do so well.
Tokyo now sit 16th in the relegation places after 4 games. Saturday see's the Gasmen take on 15th placed Shimizu S-Pulse. Hopefully Tokyo will get their first win in the 2014 J1 season.

So its been a while. I have to be honest and say I slightly lost interest in keeping up with the weekly results and news surrounding FC Tokyo and the J-League in general. I think I've said this before but it is actually rather difficult to really keep up with club news, although the results of matches are easy enough to come by. Another reason I loose interest is it, once again, very hard to watch J-League games.
The fact remains though that after nearly a full 8 months have past I have returned for a result round up bonanza. Wins are in red, anything listed as JPN Cup is the Emperors Cup and JPN LC is the J-League Cup.
02.11.2014 JPN D1 Nagoya Grampus 2-2 FC Tokyo 26.10.2014 JPN D1 Gamba Osaka 2-1 FC Tokyo 22.10.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 2-1 Sanfrecce Hiroshima 18.10.2014 JPN D1 Omiya Ardija 1-0 FC Tokyo 05.10.2014 JPN D1 Vegalta Sendai 1-0 FC Tokyo 27.09.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 4-0 Kashiwa Reysol 23.09.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 4-0 Tokushima Vortis 20.09.2014 JPN D1 Kawasaki Frontale 0-0 FC Tokyo 13.09.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 1-1 Vissel Kobe 07.09.2014 JPN Cup FC Tokyo 1-2 Shimizu S-Pulse 30.08.2014 JPN D1 Kashima Antlers 2-2 FC Tokyo 23.08.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 4-4 Urawa Red Diamonds 20.08.2014 JPN Cup FC Tokyo 2-0 Matsumoto Yamaga 16.08.2014 JPN D1 Sagan Tosu 0-2 FC Tokyo 09.08.2014 JPN D1 Cerezo Osaka 0-0 FC Tokyo 02.08.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 4-0 Shimizu S-Pulse 27.07.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 3-0 Vegalta Sendai 23.07.2014 JPN D1 Albirex Niigata 0-1 FC Tokyo 19.07.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 1-1 Kashima Antlers 12.07.2014 JPN Cup FC Tokyo 8-0 Blaublitz Akita 01.06.2014 JPN LC FC Tokyo 0-2 Sagan Tosu 24.05.2014 JPN LC Gamba Osaka 3-1 FC Tokyo 21.05.2014 JPN LC FC Tokyo 2-3 Shimizu S-Pulse 17.05.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 3-0 Gamba Osaka 10.05.2014 JPN D1 Tokushima Vortis 0-0 FC Tokyo 06.05.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 0-1 Omiya Ardija 03.05.2014 JPN D1 Urawa Red Diamonds 1-0 FC Tokyo 29.04.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 0-1 Nagoya Grampus 26.04.2014 JPN D1 Yokohama F Marinos 0-1 FC Tokyo 19.04.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 2-0 Cerezo Osaka 16.04.2014 JPN LC Vissel Kobe 0-3 FC Tokyo 12.04.2014 JPN D1 Sanfrecce Hiroshima 1-0 FC Tokyo 06.04.2014 JPN D1 FC Tokyo 2-1 Sagan Tosu 02.04.2014 JPN LC Vegalta Sendai 1-1 FC Tokyo 29.03.2014 JPN D1 Shimizu S-Pulse 1-3 FC Tokyo
Tokyo now currently sit 7th with their next game on the 22nd against 12th place Albirex Niigata. Including the game on the 22nd there are only 3 games of the 2014 J-League season left. Tokyo have no chance of reaching the ACL places (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and look as though they will end the season in midtable.
Tokushima Vortis have already been relegated after only picking up 13pts all season and both Cerezo Osaka and Omiya Ardija are currently taking up the last 2 relegation spots with Ventforet Kofu, Vegalta Sendai and Shimuzu S-Pulse all with a chance of shifting places down depending on results.

I always say that I will keep this updated but always fail. When all I can watch of a game is 2 minutes highlights its hard to keep an interest. Anyway the 2015 J-League season kicked off Saturday with Tokyo in Osaka taking on the 2014 champions Gamba. Tokyo came from 2-0 down to score twice taking it 2-2 and securing their first point of the season. Muto got both the goals with the second being quite impressive. There has been quite a fee ins and outs in the close season at Tokyo, most of with are returning and outgoing loan deals. Coming up from J-League 3 'Keeper Ryotaro Hironaga at 25 is an odd signing but Tokyo did have a player on loan at his old club, Kataller Toyama, so maybe the coaching staff heard good things. The most exciting, lets say, signing I think could be Ryoichi Maede coming in from relegated Jubilo Iwata. At 33 it could be a risk but he is a proven goalscorer in the J-League and a couple of years ago was courted by a few European clubs and I think at least 1 Prem club. Youngster Wataru Sasaki has made the step up from the Youth team to Senior squad. In terms of going out Tokyo say goodbye to Kazuma Watanabe who I thought was an alright striker for the league but he has made a side step out to Kobe so at least he is still in J1. Kenichi Kaga has moved onto Urawa Reds, unfortunately and Yohei Hayashi has joined Oita Trinita on loan I presume for the season in J2. Here's a list from website Transfer Market: www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-tokyo/transfers/verein/6631/saison_id/2014 Hopefully its up to date. The next game of the 2015 season is at Home to Yokohama F Marinos who lost 3-1 to Kawasaki Frontale on the opening day. As always it's going to be an interesting game.

So its been ages again since I've done any kind of update. 5 games have passed since I last posted. a 0-0 draw with Yokohama F Marinos, a 2-1 J-League Cup win over Albirex Niigata (Ishikawa 65th minute and Hayashi 78th), then a 2-0 win over Vissel Kobe (Morishige 33rd and Muto 68th), a J-League Cup 1-1 draw with Matsumoto Yamaga (Higashi 57th) and finally Saturdays 1-0 win against Venforet Kofu with Ishikawa getting his second of the season. After 4 league games Tokyo are sitting 3rd on 8 pts with an away game on Sunday against 7th place Shonan Bellmare.
I would like to add that Ficcadenti isn't as bad of a manager as I first thought. He has done pretty well at Tokyo in his first year and his second season as manager has kicked off very well indeed. Maybe this could be Tokyo's year.
