Dundela 4-0 Armagh City 12/11/2011 Championship2. Dundela were quick off the marks in this encounter when Kris Hunter fired home in the first minute after a fine run by William Faulkner. They continued to press and were unlucky on a couple of occasions with striker Dee Wright becoming frustrated at not being able to increase the lead. However the second did arrive on 20 minutes with Wright knocking the ball into the path of Ryan Cardwell and the big center half scored his second goal in two games. With Dundela now in full control it was not surprising that a third goal quickly followed, this time through the unfortunate O’Neill who headed passed his own keeper. HT 3-0 Armagh came out in the second half intent in getting back into the game but The Duns defence were resolute and keeper Baillie making his debut had little to trouble him. The game was well and truly over when a speculative Graham Aston shot from outside the box eluded the diving Morgan to make it four.Indeed but for Morgan’s display the score could easily have been doubled. FT 4-0 Dundela. Baillie, Collins, Aston,Faulkner, Walker(C), Cardwell, Hunter, Gilliland, Wright, Roy, Hill. Subs. McCain(Faulkner 63), Irwin(Hunter 63), Murphy, Gourley, Upton(Wright 75). Five star Duns. Posted on November 22, 2011 by Alan Wakehurst 2-5 Dundela 19/11/2011 Championship2.
Dundela started the game the hungrier of the two teams and had several half chances to take the lead before a terrible mis-kick by Maybin in the home goal on 15 minutes secured an early advantage for the Duns. The Wilgar men were now settling in to their passing game and always looked dangerous but were dealt a blow on 35 minutes when a bouncing ball somehow eluded goalkeeper Bailie and Culbertson was on hand to level matters. To make matters worse for the Duns influential midfielder Faulkner had to be replaced by Lee Lenaghan after sustaining an ankle injury. HT 1-1 Within 10 minutes of the re-start Wakehurst grabbed an unlikely lead trough striker Paul and the Duns were rocked for a while. However the introduction of David Murphy and Glen Upton soon had things going their way. Firstly the lively Ben Roy fired home from a free kick then Upton broke down the left and crossed for Wright to slot home and things then got even worse for Wakehurst when Cage was sent of for an elbow in the face of Roy. In the final few minutes of the game Dundela wrapped things up with further goals from Wright and Roy to round off another fine attacking display from the Duns. FT 2-5
Dundela Bailie, Collins, Walker, Faulkner, Cardwell, Gourley(C), McCain, Gilliland, Wright, Roy, Hill. Subs. Upton(Hill 64), Murphy(Cardwell 68), Lenaghan(Faulkner 45), Robinson.
Referee E. Ferguson.(Coleraine).

Dundela 2-5 Annagh United 26/11/2011 Championship2. If its goals you want to see then Wilgar Park is the place to be, unfortunately this time it was the away side who bagged the bulk of the goals in this thrilling match. Annagh took an early lead when Murphy headed in from a long throw. Dundela looked to hit straight back but were fortunate not to fall further behind when Smyth headed against a post but they did level matters a minute later when Scott Hill netted with a superb overhead kick. Wright in the away goal was the busier of the two keepers with the Duns front men forcing several smart saves but it was Annagh who scored the next goal when referee Davey was the only person in the ground who saw a foul when Gourley and McCordick chased a loose ball in the box and to everyone’s amazement gave a penalty which Smyth converted. Dundela continued to press and had two penalty claims turned down, the second of which seemed a blatant handball from a Hill free kick. As half time approached Annagh stretched their lead when McCordick scored with a strike from just inside the box. HT 1-3 Now playing in to a strong wind Dundela attempted to get back into the game but were hit with two quick goals from Smyth for his hat trick. However they continued to press and Wright in the Annagh goal was having a day to remember with several fine saves. His one blemish was a laughable faking of a groin injury seemingly to waste a bit of time. Dundela pulled a goal back through Dee Wright on the hour and had other chances on a day when both sides could and probably should have scored more goals with the Duns strikers proving the more wasteful. After the match the shock at the size of defeat was clear for all to see and manager Snodden will be looking for a positive response next week although another tough encounter will be expected with Ballyclare Comrades the visitors to Wilgar. Dundela Sergeant, Collins, Aston, Faulkner, Cardwell, Gourley(C), McCain, Gilliland, Wright, Roy, Hill. Subs. Upton(Gilliland 56), Hunter(Hill 56), Irwin(Aston 77), Murphy, Walker.

Wright on cue to send Duns through! Posted on December 12, 2011 by Alan Dundela 2-0 Wakehurst 10/12/2011 Irish Cup Round 4.
Dundela progressed to the fifth round curtesy of 2 Dee Wright goals to see off fellow Championship 2 side Wakehurst at Wilgar Park. The striker has now found the net 19 times this season which is a fantastic return in his first season with the club and surely there is a lot more to come.

Roy’s the boy! Posted on December 19, 2011 by Alan Lurgan Celtic 2-3 Dundela 17/12/2011 Championship2.
Ben Roy was the hero for the Duns when his injury time header sealed a valuable 3 points for the Wilgar men in this entertaining league clash at Lurgan. Dundela were quick out of the blocks and William Faulkner fired them in front with a superb scissor kick goal from Dee Wright’s cross on 6 minutes. The lead was to last barely a minute when hesitancy in the Duns defence allowed Murnin in to level. Both teams made light of the difficult conditions to play some attractive football and on the half hour mark Dundela were gifted a goal when confusion in the home defence resulted in Faulkner firing in his and Dundela’s second. HT 1-2 The second half once again had both teams playing some entertaining football on the sodden pitch and it was the home side who got the next goal when Dundela failed to clear a corner and Haire bundled the ball over the line. It was now end to end football with Dundela arguably having the better chances but just as it looked as if the points would be shared young Lee Lenaghan nipped down the right wing and slung in a superb cross that Ben Roy met with a diving header to send the Dundela players and officials wild with delight. Both teams should be highly commended for playing out such a great game in the conditions, a point that was made by both sets of club officials after the match. FT 2-3
Dundela Sergeant, Murphy, Aston, Faulkner, Cardwell, Gourley(C), Irwin, McCain, Wright, Upton, Hunter. Subs Roy(Irwin 80), Lenaghan(Upton 88), Robinson(Wright 90), Hill, Gilliland.

Quick fire double kills off ‘moon. Posted on February 7, 2012 by Alan Killymoon Rangers 1-2 Dundela 04/02/2012 Championship2 If Dundela were to continue their push for promotion then victory at Killymoon was a must. The first half was a bit of a non event with both teams struggling to put any telling moves together, although the home side did have a couple of speculative efforts hitting the woodwork. Dundela’s best chance fell to Ben Roy but the front man fired his shot wide. HT 0-0 The game finally came to life just past the hour mark with Dundela pressing hard. They won a free kick 25 yards from goal and up stepped dead ball king Scot Hill to fire an unstopable shot past the diving Brown in the home goal. Three minutes later it was 2 nil when after a quick break from the back William Faulkner elude several tackles to score. Dundela now looked comfortable but Sergeant still had to be alert to thwart a Killymoon attack when it seemed as if they would get back into the game. With time ticking out Killymoon did get their goal when Young scored from close range after Dundela failed to clear a corner. The goal was a mere consolation as Dundela held out without further trouble to secure those three valuable points. FT 1-2 Dundela Sergeant, Walker, Collins, Faulkner, Cardwell, Gourley(C), Irwin, McCain, Wright, Roy, Hill. Subs Upton(Hill78), Gilliland(Wright77), Beattie(Faulkner77), Ballard, Baillie. Referee J Deighan (Limavady).

Lurgan men hit for four. Posted on March 12, 2012 by Alan Dundela 4-0 Lurgan Celtic 10/03/2012 Championship2.
The Duns secured another valuable three points with this victory over Celtic. In an keenly contested first half with few clear cut chances, the closest being two long range efforts from Faulkner and Gilliland dealt with by keeper Fox, Dundela probably just shaded it going into the break. HT 0-0 Dundela came out in the second half the hungrier of the two sides and within ten minutes had taken the lead, when Gary Irwin’s shot rebounded of the bar Dee Wright was on hand to fire in. With the Duns now pressing it was no surprise when Glen Upton headed the second ten minutes later. The third goal was a disaster for the away keeper when he failed to control the ball and Wright was on hand to fire into an empty net. Soon after that Dundela scored a fourth when substitute Ben Roy hammered in from the edge of the box with his first touch to complete an impressive victory.
Dundela Sergeant, Collins, Aston(C), Faulkner, Ballard, Hume, Irwin, Gilliland, Wright, Upton, Hunter. Subs. Roy(Upton77), McCain(Faulkner80), Hill(Irwin77), Beattie, Cardwell.

Last gasp Ryan the hero! Posted on March 26, 2012 by Alan Moyola Park 1-2 Dundela 24/03/2012 Championship2.
Ryan Cardwell was the hero for Dundela when his goal deep into stoppage time grabbed all three points in a game yet again containing controversial refereeing decisions. Dundela had started the game in a confident manner against a youthful Moyola side but were rocked by an injury to fullback Scott Collins after 12 minutes when he was the victim of a poor tackle from behind. The young defender needed treatment for several minutes before being replaced by Cardwell, strangely referee Walker did not even award a free kick. Dundela were hit by another set back just past the half hour mark when Scot Hill received two yellow cards in quick succession after an exchange of views with the referee following an Aston tackle. HT 0-0 The ten men of Dundela were still well in this game and did not look like conceding at the back with the defence superbly marshalled by David Hume. On 71 minutes however they did concede when young striker Hassan fired in a fine free kick from the edge of the area. Needing the points in the pursuit of the league leaders Dundela went all out for a goal and pulled level with a little over 5 minutes to go through Dee Wright. Then came that injury time Cardwell winner with the entire Dundela team engulfing the big defender who was booked for removing his shirt.
Dundela Sergeant, Collins, Aston(C), Faulkner, Ballard, Hume, McCain, Gilliland, Wright, Roy, Hill. Subs. Upton(Gilliland 79), Beattie(Ballard 63), Cardwell(Collins 12), Murphy, Walker.
Referee D. Walker.
